Before You Burn

Before you perform any open burn you must:

  1. Read and understand the Fire Ban Stages.
  2. Read and understand the Open Burn Management Plan.
  3. Read, sign, and submit the Open Burn Application to wmfpdclerk@gmail.com.
  4. Wait for a response and have a permit number.
  5. You may need a Smoke Permit from the Colorado Department of Health and Environment.
  6. You must check the weather and understand the impact the weather will have on the fire.
  7. You must notify 911 before starting your fire and provide them your permit number.
  8. You must notify neighbors of the open burn.
